Last of the REAL tractors, the GTX18 was approx $6500 new. It is a Kohler 18 HP v twin, hydrostatic, POWER Steering , Power Deck Lift and has the massive Bolens duratrac cast iron rear end. The rear end was guaranteed for life when sold. It has driveshaft power to the hydrostatic and driveshaft to the mower deck, which uses a gearbox. many attachments available including rear mounted tiller and front mount snowblower, PTO driven. Everything works but the cruise control and I tried to use a different switch, but the wife never liked it anyway. For those of you who know these tractors, the foot pedal forward and reverse is very easy to use. This is no mess around tractor, and we are downsizing. You can't buy anything to match this today. I did recently eliminate the lockouts for the starter because it was loosing voltage somewhere in the switches, and was intermittant,so I placed a nice push to start button in the dash. it is wired correctly and works now every time! The muffler has vibrated loose and needs welded or replaced, but does not affect the runing.other than the cruise control not working, everything else is great. new front tires, and recent battery. starts right up and no smoke, 545 hours on the meter.
